10 Questions with Clint
Nickname: CVB or VB
Why Triathlon: Always liked the challenge of the sport and seemed like more fun that footy pre-season.
Proudest Result: The two results that I am most proud are my 9hr 18min Ironman PB at Hawaii in 2010 and being able to mix it with some top cyclists and finishing 17th overall in the 2007 299km Melbourne to Warrnambool Cycle Race. Some other great moments i have had are the getting on the podium in New Zealand Ironman 2010, having all my family with me at Hawaii Ironman in 2008 and being able to race in the Aussie uniform during World Championship races.
Fav Distance/Race: The Half Ironman for sure - long enough for me to catch some of the superfish, and short enough that you can still actually race the distance.
Fav Discipline: Definitely the bike, although unfortunately for me, triathlon is 'not about the bike',
Athlete you admire and why: Triathlon - Chris McCormack: work ethic, races hard, and I love anyone that talks the talk and walks the walk, Cycling - Jens Voight as he must love the pain of pushing hard, team ethic, and will never die wondering about a possible win,
Fav Footwear/Clothing: Saucony: I loved them in the late 80's and early 90's and now they are back in Australia with a vegeance. Plus they there minimalist designs in the Kinvara and Mirage have supported my attempts to improve my running technique.
Fav Food/Nutrition: Has to be PowerBar, great taste and nutritional value, although KFC post IronMan always tastes a treat!!
